Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent, unprovoked seizures. A seizure occurs when a sudden, abnormal electrical discharge occurs in the brain, causing a temporary interruption in normal brain functions. Seizures can manifest in different ways depending on the part of the brain affected and the extent of abnormal electrical activity. Seizure symptoms may include seizures, muscle spasms, loss of consciousness, altered sensations, or periods of staring.
