Cold and Cough
The term “cold” refers to a viral infection that primarily affects the upper respiratory tract and is often caused by a rhinovirus. Symptoms may include a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, cough, and sometimes fever.
A “cough” is a sudden expulsion of air from the lungs, usually to clear the throat or airways of mucus, irritants, or foreign objects. Coughing is a common symptom of respiratory infections like colds, as well as other illnesses like allergies, asthma, or even acid reflux.
